Nurse called this morning and my labs look good. Not even pre-diabetic, which is what scares me right now. I know my weight is making that a time-bomb. LDL is a little high but everything else looks good. So that's good to know.
I wish the seminar was tomorrow instead of next Saturday, I'm ready to get this going! lol I've really tried to watch what I've been eating and stop myself if I'm on the prowl for food just because I'm bored. And drinking more. So I've lost 2 lbs!! I'm sure it's the water because I'm ALWAYS in the bathroom!! lol But that's ok, it's water I didn't need anyway.
Lori it looks like they will be finished with the shop work and be back out on location the middle of the week. WOOO HOOO!! lol can't wait to have my quiet office back. Now if the wind will just stop blowing 24/7!
Glad the labs are back and that all looks good! I understand your concern about being pre-diabetic, I have/had the same concern. Diabetes killed my dad...
ReplyDeleteThe seminar will happen. Hang in there. :)
And woohoo on losing 2lbs! That's awesome! Now be careful. Your insurance co will never tell you this outright, but some companies will care if your BMI falls below 40 before they give you approval. Mine was one such. My insurance rider specifically said I had to "fail" the supervised program and while the rider did not say this next part, it was also well-known that they would use it to deny me, that my BMI had to be above 40 at the time of my paperwork submission. I started with a BMI of 42.7 so I basically could lose 14 pounds within that supervised program, but not more. So companies are better than others for this...but the safest thing was to lose weight, but just not too much. My NP told me to shoot for 2-3 pounds a month - it was enough to show I was onboard and paying attention but also little enough to show I needed help.
Woohoo - you get your quiet office back! Oh how nice it would be to have a quiet office! :) I hope the wind stops. What a nuisance!
The waiting is so hard. Hang in there. I am in same situation as above - very close to BMI of 40 and I don't have any comorbidities so I need to be careful not to go below. I had a friend who lost 20 lbs during the 6 month period prior to surgery, went below the BMI of 40 and was denied authorization for the surgery. We all can lose weight when we have to - it's the keeping it off that's a problem.
ReplyDeleteYay! Local soon to be bandster! How exciting! Robin told me you were out there!
ReplyDeleteSo I took your advice and found the Greek Yogurt at Sam's -- thanks so much, I would have missed it.
Sadly, I missed TJ Maxx. Too much family buying today. I will have to go by myself someday soon. Let me know if you want to meet up for lunch or something, it would be great to meet you. And Robin should be there too!
You are doing the absolute best thing you could ever do for yourself. No question, I am THRILLED I got this surgery, it has changed my life. Not just because I look better and am healthier, but because the obsession with food is GONE! Once you get good restriction it is like magic (for me anyway), like someone just erased that urge to eat.
Can't wait to meet you!

Also, who is doing your surgery? Seems like no one was in ABQ when I researched it?
ReplyDeleteI feel ya on the diabetes front. My grandad died of Type II and my dad currently has it. I had gestational diabetes with both babies so I figure it's just a matter of time. Glad the bloodwork looks good. Seminar will be here before you know it.
